Inventions

The three major inventions /discoveries that have brought us to where we are to-day:

1- The wheel: It allowed us to travel further than our eyes could see and is the basis of industry.

2- The Print: It allowed us to record knowledge and build on it without the need to re-invent the “wheel”.

3- The “chip”: This allowed us to communicate at huge distances in an instant and store information in a tiny area.

The Future:

Which future inventions will take us further?

1- Energy: I see a “card” like a credit card. This card will load energy into whatever slot in a house or car and allow us to have “energy” on tap. It will be clean and non fossil. In fact I see it as a sort of magnetic power.

2- The Magic box: This item will be able to dematerialize and re materialize. Point it at your car, and you will be able to minimize your car so as to enable you to put it into your pocket. This item will need humans to live in peace….

I doubt that the Energy card will be available before 2050 while the Magic Box might come before the end of the century. May both be used for peaceful purposes!

Fingers

One should be conscious that when one points a finger at someone, three are pointing back while the Master Finger points heavenwards. What this means is that one should look three times more inwards and ask for Heavens’s guidance before judging or blaming someone else.

Wiping off third world debts.

Wiping off third world debts is not going to improve by one iota the life of the nation whose debt is being written off. It will only enrich and create new opportunities for corrupt politicians to fill their pockets. It will enrich a few at the expense of the donor country.

The writing off of a debt should be earned. One should give those countries needing and wanting debt write offs the opportunity to prove that the interest that they do not have to pay is put to good use first. Then an equivalent amount of bad debt could be written off.

Something that is given for free has no value attached to it.

Chivalry

I consider men and women to be equal. This means that both have the same responsibility and rights.

Let us not forget that with responsibility comes accountability.

This means that chivalrous such as getting up when a woman enters a room, allowing her first in the lift and all those types of behaviours, are a form of unacceptable sexism.

This does not mean that one cannot do this. But if one partakes in these activities let then the reason be other than chivalry.

To me, chivalry is a form of abuse on men's rights to equal treatment. It is also an insult to a woman who wants to be treated as an equal, for equal she is to man.

Earned respect or an acknowledgment for each other should be the sole reason of a chivalrous act.

Empowerment

You empower people by education, not protection, through nepotism or through whatever other form.

Whoever is placed in a position for which the only qualification is “colour, gender but not knowledge ” is being insulted and his / her dignity trampled upon.

Our Face

We have two ears, two eyes, two nostrils and only one mouth.
The latter is at it’s best when closed or when exposing the teeth as when we laugh or smile. Incidentally, it is impossible to speak, smile and laugh at the same time.

What all this means is simple: We should listen twice as much as talking, keep both eyes open and carefully observe what is in front of us. To allow these processes to operate well, we have two nostrils to take in oxygen. The purpose of oxygen is to keep us alive and to allow our brain to function well.

Let us breath deeply, interpret what we see and hear before engaging the tongue.
