Quo Vadis...?

Good question to ask ourselves!

What has changed in the last 50 years: We..

1) Now hand condoms to children
2) Show porn, sex and violence on TV and the Internet
3) No longer discipline our children
4) Though the "pill" allows us to control the number of children, we allow voluntary abortion
5) Demand instant gratification
6) Have increased the number of poor in the world through our greed and behaviour
7) Have endangered the future of our planet, depleted water resources, forests etc
8) Are spending the money we must still earn, to-day!
9) Use excellent soils to produce, not food, but bio-fuel!
10)Pay useless, unproductive people (i.e politicians, lawyers etc)gigantic salaries.
11)Underpay and show no respect to educators, health workers and policemen.
12)Still produce more efficient arms to kill each other instead of quality food.

... and so on and so on...

Amazing... incredible?

People find it easier to believe a lie than to think for themselves(thinkers on the other hand do think...).
Gullibles are liars best friends because the liar can make up and spread stories that suit their own agenda. It is the only defence that they have against truth. Little do they realise that truth will one day prevail.
Those gullibles have the privilege to be associated with the lie and liars. Will they learn the lesson: To think first, ask questions? NO.
An enquiring mind does not come overnight. It requires practice, it has to be nurtured and takes time to develop.

The end of the world is nigh....

Of course it is! The end of the world is when one dies...
Am I a nutcase? Crazy?
Humans are blessed with a brain that is meant to be used! Our existence is one of a dual system, day/night, black/white, fiction/fact, life/death etc.
There is but one subject about which there does not exist a dispute: We all one day WILL die! End of story... end of the world...
Science attracts by its very nature, controversy. Each side to a controversy has its reasons (vested interests) for saying/believing/advancing what it does.
We are all in the same boat (earth) with two (opposing) captains on board. Between them they guide/help/assist us to experience life on earth.
The end of the world pre-occupies a lot of people. Why? What for? What will be, will be.
In my life, (70) I have always tried to listen to both sides. Both sides believe (firmly) in what they advance. Time, in the end always proves the one or the other right, and when it does, it often is no longer an issue. And so it will be with my end of the world... so why worry about it?
I deal with what is in my power, what is not, I try to accept!
What does this make me...?

Bonus... why?

Can someone please explain to me why a Bonus must be paid to anyone at all?

When a person applies for a job, does that person at the interview time not promise the potential employer to do his utmost to promote the well-being of the organisation? Or does the person say: "Sir, I am only making available some of my knowledge / experience / know-how / skills to the organisation?".

Yes, a bonus must be paid if a person has delivered to an organisation some benefit that does NOT lie within his ability to deliver or to put it plainly, does not fit into his job description.

I certainly cannot think of one instance why a top executive in an organisation should be paid a bonus either. A top executive's raison d'ĂȘtre in an organisation is to increase the value of the organisation. A top executive's outlook is to-day, to-morrow and naturally also the day after to-morrow!
